This edition of Béla Bartók’s Complete Works draws immediately the attention of the Hungarian composer’s admirers because it includes some interesting novelties compared to the one edited by Hungaroton Classic in 2000. The Decca edition proposes Bartók’s outstanding works performed by great artists alongside with his minor compositions, those written at the beginning of his career, when the composer was still under a late-Romantic influence and did not possess his personal style yet. These works include some piano or vocal pieces and are performed here by eminent artists to create an excellent execution.
